LBTQ Health and Wellness

The Allentown Women's Center understands that lesbian, bisexual, and queer womens, as well as FTM and intersex persons too often experience unique barriers when it comes to receiving reproductive health care, such as; derogatory comments, neglect, threats, violence, abusive treatment, and denial of treatment. At AWC, we embrace a holistic approach to gynecological health care and wellness, and strongly believe that education and support are vital to a person's ability to make health care decisions.

AWC is please to offer culturally-sensitive, friendly and affordable gynecological health care to all gender variant and intersex individuals. AWC provides a safe and supportive environment for all of our patients, including health services sensitive to the needs of lesbian, bisexual, and queer women, as well as transmen.

As our services continue to grow, AWC currently offers annual physical exams including lower and pelvic exams, HPV testing, chest exams (pre and post surgical), ultrasounds, STI screenings, and lab work as needed. In addition, we provide prescriptions to transmen interested in menstrual suppression. In the near future, we will also be offering prescriptions for Hormone Replacement. AWC also offers affordable and professional counseling services to all patients, provided by our Master's level counselor who specializes in Human Sexuality.
